Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, having relationship challenges, or just don’t feel like yourself—I can help.

I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Deema Kanbaragha

Although change is difficult, uncomfortable, and scary, it is sometimes necessary for personal growth.

I wholeheartedly believe in our capacity to change our unhealthy thought patterns in order to live the life we desire. Seeking therapy is a self-honoring choice, and I’m happy to be alongside you in this challenging, yet fulfilling journey.

Meet Your Therapist: Deema Kanbaragha

I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Earlham College and an M.A. in Clinical Counseling from Point Loma Nazarene University. I have experience providing therapy to adults, couples, military personnel, families, and teens, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, ADHD, personality disorders, grief, anger, separation, divorce, and relationship challenges.

I customize therapy to meet individual needs and use a holistic approach, drawing from various modalities such as: Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I am also trained in Gottman Couples Therapy, the only evidence-based couples therapy currently available.

How I got here…

Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to live in different places around the world and have surrounded myself with individuals of various cultures and religions.

My life experience combined with my professional training has provided me with a multicultural perspective that enables me to honor and be culturally sensitive to my clients’ needs and unique backgrounds. I believe one of the most important tools for healing is the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a safe and accepting space that allows my client to feel fully supported. I approach my clients with empathy, use active listening, compassion, humor, and, when necessary, gentle confrontation. I encourage my clients to make empowering choices that build their internal sense of freedom, strengthen their self-trust, and bring them deeper clarity.

In my personal life, I prioritize maintaining a strong mind-body connection and honor it through a healthy, spiritual, and well-rounded routine. I love surfing, cycling, hiking, practicing yoga, camping, and spending time outdoors. I believe that connecting with nature is vital for our mental well-being, helping us stay grounded and mindful.

Healing happens in relationships, and socialization plays a key role in improving our mental well-being. I actively carve out time for friends and family, valuing the relationships and the healing they can bring.

Creativity significantly enhances mental health by helping to manage emotions, reduce stress, and build resilience. I make a point to integrate creative activities into daily life, like experimenting with healthy recipes, planting, and designing home decor.
